Rep Letter / Representation Letter

This is the first document an attorney sends to the court after they have been hired on to your case. It is a piece of paper that basically says, “Hello Court. I represent Donald in the pending assault case. Please send me all of the evidence you have against him. At this time we are pleading not guilty.”

Attorneys will always advise clients to enter a plea of not guilty right away because we want to be sure the prosecutors have enough evidence to prove their case before we talk about a plea negotiation or anything like that.
